Decorating On A Budget

Who doesn’t love a good party or get together? Especially heading into the festive season. We’ve all been there, spending hours browsing through Pinterest & Instagram looking at all those perfectly decorated and themed parties, but it doesn’t have to break the bank.

Whether you’re planning a birthday party, baby shower or hens party, you don’t need to be a professional party planner to make an impact. Your perfectly decorated party is just around the corner, literally.  Super Saver Ballina Central has you covered, with a great range of party supplies and themed decorations, kitchen ware & everything else – your next shindig will be the talk of the town and better yet, it won’t cost you a fortune.

Here are some cheap & fun party decorating tips:

Plan ahead

You don’t need to plan months in advance but leaving things to the last minute will mean you are left with the rest of the pick and not the BEST of the pick in store. This will also give you time to browse the products and see which items will best fit together with your event theme.

Use colour coordination

Once you’ve picked your focal point decorations and central themed pieces, fill the rest with colours that compliment the theme.  Decorations and supplies in solid colours are generally more readily available and often cheaper than decorations with printed themes.

Look beyond the party supply aisle

Often some of the best ideas can be found in the strangest places.

For kids parties –  Use pages from large colouring books as table and/or other decorations. This is a cost-effective way to decorate to a specific theme PLUS it acts as an additional party activity.

For themed parties – Wrapping paper can also serve as a table cloth. For example, Christmas parties and baby showers.

For dinner parties – soft candlelight instantly creates atmosphere and hides any “lack of other decorations”.  Place candles of different sizes throughout the room for a more ambient look.

For all parties – Use food placement as centre pieces and/or decorations.  A few strategically placed cake stands and beautifully plated platters are a great way to decorate without needing to spend more.
